We offer PE, music, foreign language, art, computer and career prep on a rotating basis in order to fulfill Alabama High School graduation requirements.

8:45 Research proves that a later start time benefits those with poor sleep patterns.

9:00-9:10 We review Greek, Latin, and Anglo-Saxon word structure.

9:10-9:30 We come together and focus on who Jesus says we are in Him! This is one of our student’s favorite times and it sets the tone for hope and positivity before we start our academic day.

9:30-10:45 HUA’s English program will amaze you! Students excel with Orton-Gillingham comprehension strategies, trade books, interactive grammar practice, and our own “writing recipe.”

10:45-11:00 This is an essential time to clear the student’s mind, MOVE and to interact with others. It also provides time for student leadership opportunities.

11:00-12:15 At HUA we use college prep textbooks and Marilyn Zecher multisensory strategies to teach challenging subjects in a creative way.

12:15-12:45 Every student’s all time favorite class block!

12:45-12:55 This is a time for activities that reset focus and improve fine motor skills, and we believe it’s imperative to have this time every day!

12:55-2:05 Just like math, both science and history can be rote in traditional classroom settings but we strive to get our kids involved … even up and moving!

2:15 Our school day is intentionally abbreviated based on research and best learning practices.
