Teaching Methods

At Hope United Academy we offer HOPE and success to students who struggle in conventional classrooms

All teachers have training in the Orton-Gillingham methodology for reading comprehension and implement this instruction across ALL subject areas. Moreover, HUA math teachers have training in Marilyn Zecher math. Multisensory  instruction allows “out of the box”  learners to succeed, even with more complex subject matter.

Christ-centered instruction in an encouraging environment with a Biblical worldview undergirds individualized instruction to accommodate all learning styles.

HUA offers a collaborative partnership between teachers, parents, and students to create momentum, while daily student accountability and organizational skills cement long term success.

Meaningful assignments challenge without frustrating. We focus on leadership with college-preparatory instruction and dual enrollment opportunities ensure that students are prepared for their futures.

Our teachers empathize with parents and their students who have fallen between the cracks in traditional classroom settings.

We are here to help your child write their success story.

We do things differently because your child is a bright student who learns differently.

Our faculty offers homework help from 3-5 every day.

This benefits students and teachers because it helps our faculty to understand the needs of their students: If there are a lot of calls teachers realize they need to adopt a different way to explain and cover the material again, and if there are no calls they can confidently move forward.

Parents are also provided a weekly progress report so that there are no academic surprises. These progress reports include their child’s weekly academic wins; as well as suggestions for future success.

At HOPE we embrace strengths and undergird weaknesses. In recognizing both, versus stigmatizing, we encourage students to see their unique skillsets. We focus on sharpening innate abilities and honing academic areas of difficulty.
